Illuminate from the inside out!

Dearest Friends,
Welcome to Summer, we just passed the Summer Solstice & the New moon is July 11th!

At this time of the year the earth is being showered with a vast amounts of light, this is a time to transform any negativity or darkness in your life for the greater good of yourself and all that you desire for your life. Transmute bad habits & thoughts into practical light filled ways to live. Each day is a new day and an opportunity to rewrite your destiny. As the world changes at a vast rate we are faced with great challenge both personal and collective. All truths are being revealed to us from politics to environment and from human behavior to health. Everything has a polarity and this means with every challenge an equal opposite/polarity comes and for this we have to be thankful, there are remarkable beings creating and providing amazing tools with which to illuminate your life.

This month I am highlighting events( with lots of explanation :) ) that are featuring the work of such beings. Please join me as we delve into the beauty that life has to offer. Spread the light and share this news with your family and friends.

The world is shifting for each one of us, some days it feels magnificent and some days its like a really bad joke and may feel like the rug was pulled from underneath your feet and you are falling far. Nothing is random and everything is in perfect design. This can be hard to accept at times and it is up to each of us to shift our perspective and not be victim of or circumstances. To stand up and be your own witness and look for what is the blessing, what is the lesson and what is the healing. 

Every circumstance will contain these three:

A Blessing
A Lesson
A Healing

We are truly blessed to be living through such diverse and trans-formative times, though it is very important to be aware of your Body of Pain. Working with the breath will assist you in not getting caught in your STORY and enable you to shift your frequency/vibration to merge with that of your higher self. To walk in grace through challenge and stand in truth when times are dark and to give a hand to those that are down when you are UP. Befriending and cultivating a strong relationship and understanding of your breath will give you mastery over your mind. The frequency of your mind will meet that of your breath. The breath is also known as the voice of the soul, as you strengthen your relations with your breath in-turn you are creating a platform for your souls voice to be heard, making a difference in your life and the lives of others.

With any practice consistency is KEY to the door of transformation. Start simple and small and over time this SEED will grow into a tree, a tree of LIFE. You will be greatly surprised and rewarded for your commitment. Commitment builds character. As the world shifts around and through us we need to cultivate a new form of fitness SPIRITUAL FITNESS. Being spiritually fit is of the utmost importance and it will carry you through everything with your heart intact and open. “The pain-body is my term for the accumulation of old emotional pain that almost all people carry in their energy field. I see it as a semi-autonomous psychic entity. It consists of negative emotions that were not faced, accepted, and then let go in the moment they arose. There is also a collective human pain-body containing the pain suffered by countless human beings throughout history. The pain-body has a dormant stage and an active stage. Periodically it becomes activated, and when it does, it seeks more suffering to feed on. Meditation to Collect Energy and Bring Grace
  1. Sit in a meditative position, spine straight with the chin tucked in toward the front of your throat. Sit in an easy pose, cross legged or in a chair.
  2. Your hands are held above the floor/earth outside of your knees, with the middle finger pressed further down towards the floor/earth. Gently spread the palm and fingers to be receptive to receiving.
  3. Your eyes are closed and focusing at your third eye point.Your teeth and jaw is relaxed with your tongue gently pressed to the roof of your mouth.
  4. Inhale through nose for the count of 20 seconds. Hold breath for the count of 20 seconds. Exhale through nose for the count of 20 seconds.
Continue for 11 min







NOTE: Do not be discouraged if you are unable to meet the 20/20/20, what is most important is that you start where you are able to have all parts an equal count eg: 5/5/5 or 10/10/10. Then from there it will build and expand.
This breath sequence will bring your total being into a space of healing, it will strengthen and balance your auric field, it will create a state of peace withing and increase your vibration. Slowing the breath down to this rhythm increases radiance, peace, love, self-confidence and truth and as a result your life will mirror this.


Meditation can be practiced anywhere, in the park, at home, on the subway and anywhere you may feel inspired. It will harmonize and change you aura after 3 short minutes, and at 11 minutes the sympathetic and parasympathetic parts of the brain become balanced as well  your glandular system and it increases the strength of your projective and protective minds.

Enjoy this waxing moon, plant seeds plentifully and spend time bringing life to your visions.

Full Moon Healing

Dearest Friends
HAPPY FULL MOON
Spring is bringing abundance into all our hearts and happiness onto the faces of strangers. What is this happiness, I recently read this inspiring impression of happiness,

As I related this to my current/recent life and experiences I saw its truth, as I have been faced with many challenges of late(fractured leg and all) the more I have embraced my expansiveness and divinity the more these challenges have quickly turned into my blessings. Ones divinity can be so many things, in a moment it can be a vast connection to the greater forces in another it can be the feelings you receive from eating the likes of Moon Pie from One Lucky Duck, essentially there is beauty in everything you do, its what you make of it. Cultivating this ability to shift perception, seeing every problem as a solution to a bigger problem, every breath as an opportunity to drink in life & love yourself.

Let this FULL MOON and the spring energies, a time when the earth is being showered with vast amounts of SUNlight (even when its cloudy)to encourage new beginnings and inspirations, renewed vigor and devotion towards your life, yourself and others. Everyday we write the book of our life, together lets make it an inspiring, evolutionary and heartfelt story for the new generations to be blessed by. Use this Full Moon and the coming days of the waning moon to let go of what does not serve you, clean the closets and open your life to healing NOW.

International Women's Day

Dearest Friends,
Its International Women's Day today, March 8th. 

Today is a day marked on the universal calendar to celebrate, honor and inspire what it is to be a women. Men, please read on and share with all the women you know.

 Every generation of women has had its positive and more challenging aspects. The bottom line is what are we doing for ourselves and how are we paving the way for a richer, more respected and honored path for our sisters, mothers, girlfriends and daughters those whom we walk alongside and those that will follow us.


According to the United Nations, International Women's Day started in 1911 with this intent:
  "It is an occasion for looking back on past struggles and accomplishments, and more importantly, for looking ahead to the untapped potential and opportunities that await future generations of women.”

Being a women is a multi~faceted role and thankfully we are born multi~taskers by nature. Know this, that in all your choices from how you speak to how you breathe and from how you eat to how you shop will ultimately facet the brilliance of you as a women. 

There are many women from various generations that inspire us for varying reasons from Audrey Hepburn to Mother Theresa and from Marianne Williamson to Donna Karan. The age we are now living in gives us a multitude of highly accessible information and practices with which to incorporate and enrich our lives and manifestations. 

We are able to shape our lives with seeds of consciousness and grow trees of truth and beauty, with the branches of faith and hope, the fruit of love and respect, the flowers of radiance and grace and the fragrance of inspiration and upliftment for all women. 

For all women whether you are a financier, a receptionist, a waitress, an actress, a yoga teacher, a mother, a writer, a chef, a bus driver, a school teacher, an executive, an artist you are a vessel, a feminine vessel, a creative vessel and as you make changes in your life, as you drop each pebble in the waters of humanity you too will shape it.

Suniai, Suniai, Suniai.....listen, listen, listen with thy heart

Dearest Friends,
Happiest Full Moon
So its a while since I posted and I have imagined and attempted drafting various posts that have called my heart to speak, yet never fully got to the page. Then 2 weeks ago after our first beautiful NYC snow blizzard of 2010 the next day I slipped on ice and fractured my lower left fibula leg bone, which has left me to dance around on crutches and be fairly housebound. 


At this stage of my journey no accident is ever an accident so for this I am always humbled, my new dance has left me a combination of time and no option :) but yet to contemplate the balance between Universal Will and My Will, Patience and Proactive Movement. What is prevalent in all of this is one of the key aspects that everything will always come too in life Thankfulness and Gratefulness and then also Listening to ones Intuition. These concepts are a common thread through many spiritual, philosophical and practical teachings, just like the common thread of how many faiths and cultures will bring and press the palm of each hand together at the heart center when they pray. This common practice balances the hemispheres of the brain, brings neutrality and centers you head toward your heart, so you may ask and or receive guidance with humility. Its not connected to who or what you believe. 

The same can be said with Thankfulness and Gratefulness. It is simple, effective and humbling practice and not attached to what you believe. As we learn and practice being Thankful and Grateful for absolutely everything; from the small joys to the large and seemingly overwhelming challenges, this practice opens our hearts and plants the seed for the tree of courage to grow within, releasing negativity and frustration to be cleansed, thus transforming our Karma to Dharma. Being thankful for your shoes, for your sandwich, for you breath, for your home, for you yet traveled vacation and for the best year ever. 

TRY THIS EVERY DAY: before you go to sleep at night close your eyes and recount your day, giving thanx for everything in all its shapes and sizes in its beauty and disguises. Forgive yourself for what you may feel you could have done better and send light to those who you may have wronged intentionally or unintentionally. Gradually this practice will radiate through your everyday and each moment you live will have a presence of thankfulness and gratefulness dissolving negativity and transforming fear and insecurity.

Listening to ones Intuition, well this is a little more complex  though absolutely achievable. As we live in a conditioned world and we too have been conditioned by many things, moving us out of our heart into our heads, out of our presence into the future or the past :) How does one sharpen their intuition? Well the intuition is connected to the pituitary gland, the master gland of the body. The more the pituitary secretes, the more active and accessible your intuition will become. You will find your inner voice and guidance, becoming aware of your actions and there impacts upon yourself , surroundings and others. So how do we get the beautiful pituitary gland to secrete, well first is slow the breath down to less than eight breaths a minute, chanting mantra and also focusing you sight/attention towards the third eye/ajna chakra at the center of the forehead slightly above the eyebrows. Intuition is the voice of the soul, guiding us to raise our consciousness and be more perceptive of the truth beyond the illusion of reality, to be able to see further than what is right in front of us.  If we all think back we can remember certain times when your intuition was guiding you and then you followed events or circumstances with statements like this, I knew this would happen, I had a feeling.....there are many meditations to sharpen and strengthen your intuition the following two are simple and effective. Practice a minimum of 40 days towards 120 days and you will see a  vast difference.


3 POINT BREATH
Sit in an easy pose, cross legged or in a chair.
Spine straight, eyes closed focus on the third eye point.

MUDRA: Gyan Mudra, Hands rest on knees, palms facing up with the index finger touching tip of the thumb.

Inhale through nose for the count of 20 seconds
Hold breath for the count of 20 seconds
Exhale through nose for the count of 20 seconds.
Continue for 11 min
 
NOTE: do not be discouraged if you are unable to meet the 20/20/20, what is most important is that you take a count say 5/5/5 or 10/10/10 and all parts are equal. Then form there it will build and expand.


MEDITATION TO SHARPEN INTUITIVE INTELLIGENCE
Sit in an easy pose, cross legged or in a chair.
Spine straight, eyes closed focus on the tip of the nose with the eyes 1/10th open.

MUDRA: Surbhi Mudra touch the index finger of each hand touches the middle finger of each hand & the ring finger of each touches the pinkie finger of each hand. Al the fingers are as straight as you can( flexibility will grow with time). Thumbs point straight up. 

MANTRA: Eck Ong Kar - Sa Ta Nam- Siri Wahe Guru, There is one God whose name is truth, highest and wondrous great is this unseen light that carries me from darkness into light.

Inhale in a 4 part segmented breath(4 sniffs in through the nose to make a complete inhale) then chant the mantra.
Continue for 11 min

Shoot for the Sun and the Moon, Land in the Stars.

Happy Radiant & Joyous 2010
WE made it, yea, last year was massive in so many ways for so many, as far as we go down we come back up again flying for who knows how long before we start the descent again, this continuous world of whats up goes down and whats down goes up. Thank God for Polarities :) and along the way we get better and more graceful at both the ascent and descent! Revealing that both direction are laden with gifts and blessings, laughter and tears, ecstasy, bliss and frustration and toil. And this we must, dedicate ourselves to the glorious toil of life, life is work and work is life, continuing to peel the layers away to only come upon another layer, this is the beauty of life, our hearts can rest in the fact that perfect is not something we strive for perfect is and is ever evolving.


The very simple, cliche and sometimes frustrating thing to hear, in your strengths you will find the key to your weaknesses and in your weakness you will find the key to your strengths/success's, and that failure brings wisdom. This gives us a very simple strategy with which to look at everything that happens, exists and becomes, how do you plant your seeds and how do you continue to tend the garden of life. Know that every word, breathe , thought, action and deed is writing the book of life and they are responsible for shape tomorrows pages will take. Blessings come most often indirectly so give freely as much as you are able, and replenish yourself often.
May 2010 be a year that we all find simple, courageous and intuitive ways to awaken more beauty in our already divine beings, face our darkness and revel in all the glory and joy it will bring into our existence as we greet it with a smile. Find time to slow down and get to know yourself, as you do you will see the beauty that is, you and the universe as one, the Sun the Moon and all the Stars live within, let them shine bright for the many as well as your self. Have awareness that true spirituality, meditation, yoga starts when you get off the mat so to speak.

Note : in between ecah round of the mantra you take an inhale, 4 part segmented inhale breath, and you will notice sometimes it is spoken or chanted, follow this rhythm.

Right hand rest in left palm, plams facing up with thumb tips touching. Hands are approximatley 4-6 inches form the body at the level of the heart center.

6. Sat Nam( Sat Kriya) in rhythm with (Namm Lounge track 3)
Mudra; Guru Gyan Shakti- hands at heart center, fingers interlaced wiht the index and middle finger extended upwards.
Chant 11 minutes
Note: this rhythm is slower than the traditional Sat Kriya, though still the same intention with the navel and root lock on the Sat and release on the Nam.
